As far as security is concerned, it supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless protocols and includes parental controls. We have covered all the information you need to make the best purchase. Block complete access to being able to use internet, even the apps didn't have the ability to be used unless using their phone data. I have Comcast as my ISP, their modem/router combo had the Xfi app which controlled everything, Set times, block a device, and it actually did what it was suppose to. So i purchased it, It was really good until the kids figured out that it blocked internet access only, the apps on the tablet/TV/Phones were still able to use internet and they got to watch/do everything like usual. Told me the controls are simple to use and you can set times, and block websites. Best buy recommended this router to me, since the employee was a parent. I then after 4 months purchase a new wifi router, a Linksys EA7300. The DNS app was to complicated for my simple understanding. Including downloading a dns app and nighthawk, nighthawk app didn't have the option to even set parental controls at all. The long story on that, they had a very complex way to limit, control the internet use on that. I purchased a Netgear AC1200, was told that it had parental controls and simple UI.
